Get involved in the festivities of Homecoming 2012! We wouldn’t be as awesome as we are without folks like you!
REGISTRATION OPENS ON DECEMBER 1, 2011
Join the Homecoming committee for lunch at the Bistro, January 26 from 11am-1pm. We’ll have our “dazzling” wheel of prizes. You won’t want to miss it. If you are wearing your Homecoming button, you’ll receive an entry into the grand prize drawing. Want to know what the grand prize is? You’ll have to join us to find out.
Entries must be received by January 27, 2012. Judging will take place on January 30, 2012, but you don’t have to wait until then to decorate. Show your spirit starting on January 23 so the students feel the excitement! Winning offices will receive a prestigious plaque to display in their office.
Q: Isn’t homecoming ONLY for the students?
A: Quite the contrary. Homecoming is for the university. It’s all about having pride for the university. When you participate in homecoming or any other university activity, it raises your level of pride. When you’re excited about being here it becomes infectious! Spread the happiness.
Q: As a faculty/staff member, what difference will it make if I’m participating in homecoming? I mean, is there really a purpose?
A: Why wouldn’t you want to support something that supports the university spirit? Any time you talk about the exciting things that happen on campus – whether it’s having a well-known speaker on campus, participating in fun activities on campus, or telling students, staff members and your own family about the really cool things Mason’s doing truly makes an impact of how you perceive our campus. It’s amazing what a little support will do for having pride in our institution.
Q: How can I or my department participate in homecoming?
A: There are several ways you can participate. You might want to sign-up to participate in the annual office decoration contest. You might wear a button that promotes homecoming (distributed during the University Holiday Party). You may consider getting your department involved in the homecoming parade. Bet you didn’t know we have a parade! You could post one of the fabulous postcards or the schedule of events up on your office door. Or simply just talk about all the cool events that will take place during homecoming week – which is something we hope everyone would do! :O)
